One of the goals of worship arts is to allow people to use the gifts we’ve been given to express our gratitude to our Savior. This means more than singing and music. George has a much clearer vision of what this looks like and it is exciting to see folks use their gifts in praise and worship.

I believe that if we are going to put in time and energy into worship arts it must have a greater impact than simply giving us a nice experience on a Sunday morning. So in as part of an effort to make worship extend to our lives throughout the week, the worship arts committee will try and raise the issues around worship here. We may not always agree but part of being in a church family is dealing with difficult issues.

I’ll leave you with a blog I’ve been reading lately called Worship Matters. This post in particular deals with the songs of lament which are often ones we avoid for various reasons. Anyway, let’s understand that worship does matter but only if we let it occur more than just on Sunday morning.
