Meet The Staff
Allan Buchanan - Pastor - allan[at]hillcrestchurch.ca
Allan has served in Pastoral ministry since 1975 and came to Hillcrest with his wife Darlene in 1992. He has a passion to see people discover the security of God’s love and His special purpose for their life. Allan and Darlene have two children. Jackie, with her husband Darius and three children live in Moose Jaw. Kurt, married to Meredith Shareski lives in Toronto. As a team, Allan and Darlene enjoy renovating and decorating older homes, so there is always a project on the go. Allan has always loved the force of a Saskatchewan wind so to enjoy it to the full he enjoys sailing in the summer and a prairie blizzards in the winter.
In the summer of 2007 Allan was diagnosed with colon/rectal cancer. Surgery was very successful however the cancer had spread to the lymph system so he recieved follow-up chemotherapy and radiation therapy from November 2007 through April 2008. Allan returned to work July 1, 2008.
Steve Atkins - Youth Ministry - steve[at]hillcrestchurch.ca
Steve led the Youth Ministry at Hillcrest since 2002, however during Pastor Allan’s medical leave he was released from Youth Ministry and asked to lead the Celebration Team which is responsible for Preaching Themes and Worship Ministries. Matt Jacobs accepted a one year appointment to lead Youth Ministries and has done a great job. With the completion of the medical leave, Steve will contiue some preaching involvement and take on a new assignment to lead and develop the Grow Team responsible for discipleship ministries at Hillcrest. We are currently searching for a new Youth Ministries leader.
Steve is married to Marnie and they have two boys, Javan and Judah. Besides his passion to be a great dad, Steve loves to play soccer and if it was up to him soccer would be Canada’s national sport.
Daycee Richardson - Children’s Ministry - daycee[at]hillcrestchurch.ca
Daycee joined the Pastoral Team in 2003 with a passion to minister to Kids and raise up others for Children’s Ministry. She leads a team of over 70 volunteers. In 2007 her role was expanded to include leading the Reach Team to initiate increased evangelism and service missions in our community and beyond. She is in the office Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday each week. Daycee continues to work on a Masters Degree from Briercrest Seminary and in her spare time Daycee has a photography business and, like the rest of the staff, is renovating an older home.
On June 27, 2008 Daycee Siggelkow became Daycee Richardson after her marriage to Kevin Richardson.
Laura Blackman - Administration - info[at]hillcrestchurch.ca
Laura serves as Administrative Assistant to the Pastor overseeing the office, reception, data processing, news letter, and publishing. Laura’s passion is to serve with joy and bring order out of chaos. She helps create a great atmosphere for staff, volunteers, guests, and those who connect by phone. Laura is married to Duncan and they have only been infected slightly with the renovation bug. Laura works Monday to Thursday and is assisted by …

Myrna Forge- Publishing
Myrna serves every Thursday publishing the weekly bulletin. She brings a great focus on accuracy and detail. You may also see her volunteering in another passion in her life as a sound technician. As far as we know, Myrna is free of the renovation bug.
Doug Siggelkow - Facility Management & Maintenance
Doug joined our team in 2008 to oversees maintenance and development of our facilities by developing team of volunteers that we also hope in the future to take into service projects in the community and mission projects around the world. Doug, with his wife Donna, have served in Pastoral ministry in Canada and the U.S. plus extensive Missionary service in Central America where he is still actively involved as the ACOP Director of Missions for that area. Oh yes, Doug is required to have the reno bug.
Star & Art Dueck - Janitorial
Star and Art serve the people of Hillcrest by helping keep our facility cleans, safe, and attractive. They cheerfully deal with our garbage. They have been known to be infected with the renovation bug with a mechanical twist.
We, and the many volunteers at Hillcrest, are here to assist you in any way we can. Pastors seek to be available to meet with you at anytime, however please call to insure an appointment when possible. … 692-5600.
